Greek Life at McGill

McGill University boasts a strong, developing Greek Life with tens of fraternities and sororities.  McGill's international reputation has attracted bright young men from all over the world, reflected in our chapters and our colonies and which is what makes McGill's Greek Life truly one of a kind.  Joining a fraternity has never had greater benefits to young men looking to build strong relationships and to develop into confident and successful individuals.  
Our chapters and colonies attract leaders, athletes, and top academics.  There are members belonging to every faculty and area of study, from Management, to Mining or Electrical Engineering.  With our array of fraternities on campus, you will find a culture to suit your style, whether you plan to remain a general member or to become actively involved.  

Our Focus

Fraternities at McGill recruit extraordinary men who are driven and compassionate.  In order to maintain our reputations on campus and beyond we strive to accept only the finest candidates who are interested in, and display some of the characteristics below.

Leadership

The goal of our fraternities is to mould ambitious and hard-working boys into robust, impressive leaders of tomorrow.  From finance to medicine, our members are given the confidence to rise above and govern with social prowess.  

Academia

Of utmost importance to every one of our Greeks is the pursuit of academic excellence.  Across the board our fraternities boast grade averages higher than the all-men's averages on campus.  Many of our fraternities provide support and group-studies to excel in their education and to achieve at a maximum level.

Philanthropy

All of our fraternities raise money in philanthropic efforts.  Thousands of dollars are raised by each fraternity every semester and donated to their respective causes.  Larger and smaller groups compete in efforts to raise the most in their charitable endeavours.  

Athletics

Student-athletes are not only permitted, but encouraged to join fraternities.  The commitment to both a Varsity sports team and a McGill fraternity is a vastly rewarding experience socially and internally.  Our fraternities also compete in intramural sports with fraternity teams in hockey, beach volleyball, and many more.
